Not only can I attest to that fact because I have read it and thoroughly absorbed its wisdom, but I have seen the principles in action first hand -- both my 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son attend the Montessori school owned and directed by the author. Nelun has enriched the lives of countless children and their parents through her true adherence to both the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori and the loving compassionate kindness she gained from her parents and the Asian culture in which she was raised.
The principles espoused in Nelun's book are set forth in graceful language and are simple enough for every parent to try...by both those with experience in a Montessori system and those without.
In this age where nearly every child has a Nintendo DS, X-box and Wii by the time they are in gradeschool, Nelun's suggestions for spending quality time with children and teaching them through lived experience and love are invaluable and beautiful in their simplicity. Parenting is a difficult job but one that is so important that we should all step back and analyze the methods by which we do parent and ask ourselves..."Are we truly providing our children with a foundation that is a help to life?" And if not, how do we seek to remedy that? The pointers and information contained in this book will help all parents build that foundation upon patience, peace, compassion and love.
