This is a very good book explaining the COUPLED EFFECT OF CHLORIDE AND TEMPERATURE ON CORROSION OF STEEL REBAR IN REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES. But, this book is not for general reading. If you looking for a very deep explicit research and literature in this topic then you must buy this book. Otherwise, you should look for some other more general books. I will recommend this book for those who are dealing with corrosion of steel embedded in concrete under the effect of chloride and temperature, both for numerical modeling as well as experimentation.

One of the great concerns in view of the durabilityof reinforced concrete is the corrosion of steelreinforcement in concrete. RC structures exposed tochloride and high temperature environments like sea,deicing salts, deserts and industrial zones sufferfrom accelerated corrosion ofrebars. There is nodoubt that the presence of chloride ions promote thedisruption of the passive layer causingcorrosionof reinforcement and the chloride attack becomesmuch more severe when coupled with high temperature.Therefore, to be able to forecast the service lifeof RC structures it is necessary to quantify theamount of corrosion. The chloride attack andincrease in the electrochemical reaction rate ofcorrosion due to high temperature is anelectrochemical thermodynamic phenomenon influencedby several factors and some of them are beingoverlooked in the past research works and havedifference in opinion. Also it was found that theexperimental data for the coupled effect of chlorideand temperature on corrosion of reinforcementespecially in the high temperature range and highchloride concentration is limited.
