I am very interested in medicine despite that I majored in Mechanical Engineering. I usually buy and read medical books to enhance my knowledge in that field. I found that this book is unique. It addresses the current cardiac modeling problem and contributes to the development of a cardiac electrophysiological model that can be used to solve current problems. Also, I like its organization. Every chapter is well organized and illustrated.
The author described every single method in details. What I appreciated the most is that at the end of every chapter there is a discussion that helps readers comprehend the content of each chapter easily.

A novel electrophysiological cardiac model isintroduced in this book. The proposed framework forcardiac modeling considers six key regions thatcharacterize the cardiac electrical activity. Thisallows the model to solve the forward and inverseelectrocardiology problems in near real time. Themajor drawback of the current cardiac modelingmethods is the computational complexity because theymodel more than 100,000 cells of the heart. Thiscomplexity does not allow the current techniques tobe used in near real time diagnostics. In contrast tothe previous models, the proposed cardiac model isused as a basis for two near real time clinicaldiagnostic applications. The first is the detectionof an ischemic heart. The second is the localizationof myocardial infarction.A brief overview of the cardiac activity ispresented. Additionally, a historical review of therelated fields is discussed. The proposedelectrophysiological cardiac modeling method,including the cardiac model, forward and inverseproblems solutions, and the diagnostic applicationsare described in detail.
