If you're looking to get your feet wet on how 3D is handled by computers this IS the book for you. PC owners can benefit from it also (just disregard the Mac specific concepts located near the end of the book). It covers most of the big concepts found in virtually all 3D applications such as modeling, textures, shadows, lighting, and animation.Seasoned animators will want to look elsewhere unless unless you're in need of filling "holes" in your knowledge of the basics.
