This book was created at the when male models were making the serious big bucks and when Boss Models was on top of their game, of course, Boss Models has changed and is no longer the same, I can tell you from personal experience.... hint.. hint...
If you ever wanted to know about the male modelling business or wanted to just look back at when male modelling was at its peak, this is definitely something you will want to purchase. This also makes an excellent coffee table book for any person in the industry or just someone who loves fashion, especially from a male perspective.

Although this topic has historically been most commonly used in the social sciences including psychology and sociology, it is finding a wide range of applications as statisticians encounter more and more problems where it is appropriate to use latent variables.
Bollen provides a thorough treatment of the topic that has advanced some since the publication of the book . This is still the best source for a detailed account of the methods. Bengt Meuthen at UCLA was one of the pioneers of the methodology and his books and papers provide good additional sources for the reader who wants to understand the theory and the software tools.

Introducing 3ds Max 9: 3D for Beginners Review

(More customer reviews)At first I thought to myself that this book was going to be your typical "BAD" computer book where you have to get up, look for people who know how to use 3Ds Max or you would either look for some written or video tutorials online to get you up and started running this software. So I honestly didn't bother buying the book at first until one day by coincidence my colleague happens to have the exact same book that I was looking at Amazon 5 days ago. He told me that the book is an easy read especially with the lingo that the author uses in this book. I didn't want to believe it however; as soon as I borrowed the book just 1 day I have literally completed 4 chapters of this AMAZING book! There was no question about it and I had to get hold of a copy of my own.
One of the best things that the user will be introduced in this book is that the author will get the user feet wet into the realm of CG in Chapter 2 where the user will create a simple animation and from there the author then explain how the CG world works today and how a user should be well equipped.
Honestly this is by far one of the best introductions to CG especially how to use a complex software as 3Ds Max 9. All I can say is that this book is only for the Novice and not for the semi or advanced users. However it still acts as a good reference book for the semi / advanced users.
Oh and One last thing I should mention. This may not seem important to you but to me it is. I only believe that a good computer book has to have color throughout the whole book because it makes the book fun to read with colors. But now I am going to have to change my belief on that because this book is completely in black and white and STILL the book surprises me to how EASY it is to read and to follow along through the CD exercise that accompanies this book.

Model-Driven Design Using Business Patterns Review

(More customer reviews)I was accidentally pulled in to the world of REA. I was evaluating the redesign of our major financial application. After deeply thinking the details of the business application dynamics, I started to group them under some basic overly simplified models and entities.
From there, I started to think that there should be somebody out there who faced the same situation and solved the same set of problems with a similar approach and hopefully more elegantly.
Then, I stopped evolving my model and started searching the literature and the Internet. I came across Fowler's book and I think it was great and I liked it so much, especially modelling the account and the relaed entries. But that was about it as far as the simplicity goes. It started to get a bit more complex as I started to get more patterns.
I started to do some more searches till I got to the REA, Resources- Events-Agents and that was it. I was blown away.
The model is so simple but powerful in capturing the most fundamental concepts in the accounting and business domain.
Unfortunately, I did not find enough resources (at this time) that examines the REA and its applications in detail till I found this wonderful book.
I really thank the author for his work.
So I think, REA model will change the business information modelling arena in the same way object oriented programming changed the programming world, and like design patterns impacted the design world.
I also predict that this book will be for the business application architecture community as the GoF book to the software designers community at large.

The author does a great job of providing detailed descriptions of situations she and her daughter encountered as well as how to address them. The book is empowering because it helps a parent anticipate the pitfalls and consider the options for addressing potential problems. What I really love, though, is that the book addresses the business side, the creative side and the emotional side of modeling.
